We are looking for a qualified Sales Account Manager to join our team. As our next Sales Account Manager, you will work to satisfy customers’ needs and requests, respond to their queries in a timely manner and aspire to deliver a positive customer experience. You will develop relationships with customers within the chemical/polymer industry and oversee sales to achieve long-term success. Your responsibilities will include determining appropriate methods to support significant levels of new and existing business development within our Emulsifier Business Unit (BU) and contribute to the overall business strategy with respect to sales and profit targets. Desired candidates require strong understanding of product, price, placement and promotion as it relates to these key assigned accounts.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as a key member of our Emulsifier BU sales team who contributes to strategic direction of customer relationships with key assigned accounts.
• Secure business with assigned account(s) with an emphasis on products and/or product development within core capabilities of our Emulsifier BU. Develop, plan and implement strategic selling plans, qualify customer targets, achieve sales objectives including volume, profit and expense to accounts.
• Manage the business relationship of existing/new customers. Lead the efforts to become a critical partner/ supplier for new products, new uses for current products, i.e. expand our position and value within the food industry. Partner with R&D, marketing and the sales team in the identification and delivery of new product ideas and collaborate on trends, innovative products, concepts, and product uses.
• Partner with cross functional teams that include, R&D, Product Management, and Operations within a highly matrixed organization.
• Conduct business reviews with accounts and identify/develop opportunities to drive growth within those account.
• Report on competitor activity to product management.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Marketing and/or Technically relevant field. Master’s degree strongly desired but not required.
• Prior experience selling to and managing Key account relationships or past sales contact with key customers within the chemical/polymer industry.
• Experience and ability to call on the highest level executives required.
• Knowledge of CRM software and MS Office (MS Excel in particular)
• Understanding of sales performance metrics
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills a must
• Strong business acumen and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to analyze and integrate data.
• Must be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, strong written skills, creativity, and adaptability to changing situations.
• Ability to understand the customer’s needs and develop appropriate solutions.
• Project management and technical aptitude strongly desired.
• Should be able to identify best methods to bring products successfully to market.
• Relevant chemical/polymer industry experience required.
• 50%+ travel required.
